Hello
and welcome to the Music Technology Centre (MTC) website
of Kylemore College. This web
site serves three purposes:
An introduction to the courses on offer for prospective students
To promote the college within Ireland's Music Culture
To showcase some of the fantastic work our students are doing
In
this site you can see the studios, find out more about the courses
run at Kylemore College and listen to music created by the students
and staff. We hope as you read (and listen) you will sense the atmosphere,
energy and achievements of Kylemore College.
Kylemore College was established in 1964 by the City of Dublin
Vocational Education Committee (CDVEC)
as a vocational school. Over the years Kylemore College has changed
and developed into a co-educational college which caters for all
the educational needs of new generations of students. We now provide
a large range of programmes, facilities and services to benefit
our students, of which are clearly laid out in this web site.
Over the years the College has undergone many changes since its
inception. Under the guidance of the current Principal Declan
Mac Daid and Head of Music Gerard Flanagan, the Music
Technology Centre has grown to over 150 students offering courses
in a range of areas such as Music Technology, Music Performance,
and Sound Engineering.
The College offers excellent resources with a fully-equipped industry-standard
digital and analogue recording studio. The College is a Centre of
Vocational Merit for its work in Music Technology and Music Performance.
Graduates enjoy qualifications certified and accredited by FETAC.
Our students are highly-motivated individuals who enjoy the support
of a well-qualified teaching staff. We are passionate about what
we do and like to pass that onto our students. We also provide students
with a creative, friendly and supportive environment in which each
one can develop academically, personally and socially.
If you would like to know more about Kylemore College, please come
and visit us. We have open days and open evenings throughout the
year, but we are always very willing to meet with you and show you
round on a normal college day. All potentially suitable candidates
are invited and encouraged to attend an open day so that you can
see the facilities.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us and we hope you enjoy
the interactive and multimedia features on this site.
