We at Bottletop Media are committed to ensuring that our school websites are accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We understand that accessibility is an important aspect of our websites and we are constantly working towards improving it, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented several features on our websites to make it more accessible for everyone. These include:
Alternative Text for Images: We provide alternative text for all images on our website to ensure that users who rely on screen readers can understand the content of the images.
Keyboard Navigation: We ensure that our website can be easily navigated using only a keyboard.
Headings and Structure: We have used headings and a logical structure to make it easier for users to understand the content on our website.
Guidance: We provide Publishing guidelines for accessibility to ensure that users keep this in mind when using our platform
We are undertaking actions to improve the accessibility of our websites:
- Training users on best practice when it comes to accessibility.
- Providing material to help with this.
- Improving the accessibility of all documents on an ongoing basis.
Compliance Status
School websites may be partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA , due to the non-accessible content listed below.
Non-accessible content Some of the following may not be fully accessible. For example:
- PDFs: some documents in PDF format are not fully accessible and may in some instances lack a correct tab order or headings, have invalid language attributes, contain invalid or missing table structures.
- Tables: some tables do not have correctly defined headers. This makes it difficult to be compatible with screen readers of voice recognition software to read the content on the site.
- Images: some images may not have additional added text and are not fully accessible throughout the website.
- Pages may contain items with a lack proper colour contrast, all of which are currently being updated.
We will work through these and other issues to address them.
Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
We understand that accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our websites.
Feedback
If you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can improve the accessibility of any website, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always looking for ways to make our website more accessible and user-friendly.
