The Cairde team is a group of senior students who are trained to work closely with our incoming first year students. They are trained in teamwork, collaboration and decision making skills. They elect a chairperson and learn how to run an effective meeting as the student voice is at the heart of the team they decide which actions to take.
They plan to meet the needs of the first year students to ensure that they settle into Kylemore and feel welcome and a part of our community. Actions taken by previous groups include induction classes, quizzes, non-uniform days, ice skating trips and football leagues. They are also a friendly and approachable face in the yard and corridors to reassure our students.
